Superior Filtration in 3 Simple Steps

We don't hide what's in the filter. Here's every stage, and the job it does.

Sediment Capture

Stainless steel mesh and PP cotton to catch rust, sand, and particles before they reach the deeper filter media.

Impurity Reduction

KDF-55, calcium sulfite, and activated carbon work together to reduce chlorine, heavy metals, hydrogen sulfide, and organic compounds as water passes through.

Chloramine neutralization

Vitamin C stage that targets the chloramine most filters quietly miss.

Why Norell?

Most shower filters compete on who can promise the most. We'd rather prove it. Every claim is third-party tested, every limit is stated plainly.

Healthier skin

Stronger, softer hair

Toxin free showers

What It Can't Filter. And What It Can.

Most brands only show you the second list. We'd rather start with the first.

What it doesn't filter

No shower filter can do these. We won't pretend otherwise.

These are real, but they're drinking-water and whole-home problems, not things a shower filter is built to solve.

Fluoride

Title

Hard Water Minerals

Calcium & magnesium specifically

Title

* Removing these takes reverse osmosis or a water softener, neither of which works at the flow rate of shower head. Any shower filter claiming to remove fluoride or soften water is over claiming.

What it does filter

Reduces the contaminants that actually reach your skin and hair.

Every one of these is something our media is built to reduce at shower flow.

Chlorine

Title

Chloramine

The one most filters quietly miss

Title

Heavy metals

Lead, mercury, iron & manganese

Title

Hydrogen sulfide

The "rotten egg" smell in well water

Title

Microplastic particles

Why Norell was born

Every Filter Failed Me. So We Built One That Actually Works

"I dealt with dry skin and acne that kept flaring up, and after trying multiple filtered shower heads that all failed me, I stopped trusting the claims on the box. So we built the one I couldn't find: engineered for best water pressure, filtration media that actually works (and is transparent), plus a team that stands behind it instead of vanishing after you buy. Everything proven, nothing exaggerated, and the truth about what it does and doesn't do."

Questions?

We've got answers

Will it kill my water pressure?

No. Our shower head filter uses engineered flow restriction paired with our micro-hole nozzle design, which concentrates the water into a faster, more focused spray. The result is a shower that feels more powerful, not weaker, while using less water.

Will it clog from my hard water?

No. The filter is built in stages, starting with a stainless steel mesh and micro-porous cotton layer that catch sediment and rust before they reach the finer media, so the working layers don't choke up. In the rare case that it does clog and you notice a drop in pressure, we recommend removing the filter from the head and shaking it to open up any compressed media which caused the clog.

How often do I need to replace the filter?

About every 10,000 gallons, which works out to roughly every 2 to 3 months for most households. The exact timing depends on how many people use it and how often you shower, so a single person showering once a day will go longer than a family of four. We'll make it easy to stay on schedule rather than guess.

Will it fit my shower arm?

Yes. It connects to the standard threaded shower arm found in the vast majority of homes, and it installs by hand in a couple of minutes with no tools and no plumber. If you have an unusual setup, reach out before you buy and we'll tell you honestly whether it'll work, rather than letting you find out after.

Does it work on well water?

Yes, and well water is often where people notice the biggest difference. Well water tends to carry more sediment, iron, hydrogen sulfide (that rotten-egg smell), and other contaminants than treated city water, and the filter's sediment and redox stages are built to take those on. If you're on a well, this is one of the cases where you're most likely to feel and smell the change.

I already have a full home water filtration system, do I need this?

Not strictly, but it's a solid second layer. A whole-home system treats water at the point it enters your house; a lot can still happen between there and your showerhead, and many whole-home setups aren't optimized for the specific contaminants that affect skin and hair in a hot shower. Think of this as a final-stage buffer right where the water meets your body. If you want to be extra thorough, it's worth it. If your whole-home system is robust and recent, it's optional, and we'll say that plainly rather than pretend you need both.

Will it stop limescale buildup?

No, and we'd rather tell you straight. Limescale comes from dissolved calcium and magnesium, the minerals that make water "hard," and removing those is the job of a water softener, which this is not. No shower filter is capable of doing it, including ours. The water moves through a shower head far too fast for any filter to pull out dissolved minerals in that split second, so the scale on your tiles and glass won't change. For a water filter to be efficient at removing the hard water which causes the limescale it would need between 10 to 20 minutes of contact time with the water, which only a full home system is capable of doing. Any brand claiming a shower filter stops limescale is making exactly the kind of claim we started Norell to call out.

Can I install this as a renter?

Yes, and it's one of the best options for renters specifically. It hand-threads onto your existing shower arm in minutes, with no tools, no plumbing changes, and no permanent modifications. When you move out, you unscrew it and take it with you, and your original showerhead goes right back on.

Can I travel with it?

Yes. It's handheld and unscrews from the shower arm by hand, so you can pack it and install it anywhere with a standard threaded shower arm in a couple of minutes. People who've gotten used to filtered showers at home often bring it to hotels and stays where they don't know what's in the water.
